(NSBOX015)
3 x CD set

Three CD set of classic salsa at a great low price!

Label - Nascente Records
Released 2005

3 x CD collection of tracks from by such Latin giants as Celia Cruz and Tito Puente. Includes reggaeton and other modern styles of progressive salsa.

From record label:
"Nascente Records continues it's series of quality salsa and Latino releases with another in the 3CD boxed set "Beginner's Guide" collection. This time it's the "Beginner's Guide To Latin Music", compiled once again by top DJ and music journalist Lubi Jovanovic (Straight No Chaser Magazine). The CD takes you on a musical journey from Cuba to the Dominican Republic, Mexico to Puerto Rico, Colombia to Latin New York, and across four and a half decades, from 1961 to 2005.

CD1 features all 1960s recordings of legends such as Cuban vocal diva Celia Cruz, timbales maestro and band leader Tito Puente, conga player Ray Barretto, and many more stars of the "golden era" of Latin music. CD2 focuses on the fusions of the 1960s and 70s, when Latin music was as influenced by American soul and funk as it was by Cuban rhythms. CD3 brings the listener up-to-date with some of the most recent new musical styles and genres such as reggaeton, Cuban hiphop, r&b latino and salsa dub.

Another great and varied Latin release from Nascente Records, quality music that's value for money with 36 tracks and almost 150 minutes of playing time. "Beginner's Guide To Latin Music" - ideal for the club, the car or the houseparty!"

Compiler Lubi Jovanovic is a latin music DJ, club promoter, tour organiser, p.r. consultant and journalist with 20 years experience in the business. He is known across the global latin/salsa scene.
