Former Orquesta Aragón, violin maestro and member of the Buena Vista Social Club, (appearances on Ibrahim Ferrer´s, Omara Portuondo´s and Cachaito´s releases). Sadly, Pedro Depestre died April 2001 while performing with Cachaito in the first concert of their European tour.

'Son, Charangas y Pasiones' is his last album recorded at Egrem Studios in Cuba in 1999.

"Performing in Cachaito Lopez's band, on the first night of their current European tour, Pedro Depestre (as he was best known) had just played what was generally agreed to have been an incredible violin solo".
