The members of Misztral state:
'Our ensemble was established in Budapest in October 1997. After finishing the secondary school we
studied in the "Krónikás" (Minstrel) Music School for singer-guitarist performer's. Among our
tutors were Péter Huzella (Kaláka), Balázs Radványi (Kaláka) and Imre
Wacha. The main goal of our group is to express feelings, thoughts, moods and also to
popularize poems with the help of acustic music.
We are trying to ally history and tradition with a special, basically Hungarian nevertheless modern
tunefulness. Our lyrics are poems from classical poets such as Endre Ady, Attila József, Lajos
Kassák and writers beyond our borders.
We believe the most honest way to express what these thoughts of the writers mean to us is
through our vocals, accompanied by instruments such as cello, guitar,
chaunter, mandolin, "körtemuzsika" (special Hungarian flute) and harmonica.
It is these that make our music more colourful.'
