'This selection of recordings are from the archives of PGP Belgrade and
Radio Belgrade. A few of them were made about 30 years ago (tracks 4, 5
and 6), the rest more recent. Tracks 1, 2, 10, 11, and 16 were specially
recorded, tracks 14 and 15 from music festivals and tracks 5, 6 and 7 were
field recordings.'
The selection of recordings was made by Dr. Dragoslav Devic.'
In Serbia the Gypsies use various instruments including violin, clarinet,
trumpet, accordion, guitar, piano etc. All of which can heard on this
diverse collection.
