Klezmic noiZ 'Davka'
Balkan Klezmer music CD.
Klezmic noiZ is a group of seven true-born Antwerp "di Gojim".
Violinist Deben Benedict Van Damme founded the group end 1996.
Their aim is clear: to bring their own interpretations of klezmer music
from the Yiddish repertoire. Their city roots are injected with the
Jewish heritage and transformed into succulent revelry and melancholic
tunes. Just as their choice of music is not accidental, neither is there
choice of instruments. With the violin as leading melodic instrument,
the group harks back to the oldest traditions of klezmer music, long
before the clarinet made her appearance in the traditional klezmer band.

Anatolia II'

collected in Turkey between 1988 adn 1993. Sipos continued the work of Bela
Bartok researching the traditional music of Turkey and uncovering

instrumental music played by Turkish and Gypsy musicians.

Janos Sipos began his collection in areas where Bartok had stopped his.
Then, as fewer and fewer new tunes were found, he shifted his field of
research gradually westward. A six-year stay on the spot, the mastery of
the Turkish language, and regular collecting, transcribing and analyzing
work enabled him to prepare a large body of systematized Turkish

'Belgrade Coffee Shop 6'
Various Artists
East European indie music CD.
"Sixth in the series of compilation releases from Stereo Freeze/B92
representing Serbian electronic music underground. Internationally known
artists, Marko Nastic (Space Explorers) and Jazzva, are
joined by Faktor-X, who earlier this year released a track on Steve
Bug's Audiomatique label, as well as local talents - Filip, Milos
Pavlovic, Poems, MKDSL, etc.
The release also boasts a couple of international guests - Abe Duque
in collaboration with vocalist Tijana T, and Andi Teichmann,
whose "Myschkin" gets a remix treatment from Marko
Milosavljevic. Vlada Janjic's selection of tracks confirms
the existence of a rather diverse electronic music scene in Serbia,
ranging from deep & minimal to some proper floor friendly sounds.
Following the success of previous five compilations, this release,
rooted in the most prolific part of the scene, is a hopeful sign of a
viable continuity in local underground music."
